South Tyrolean motocross riders make people sit up and take notice
At the final round of the Motocross Regional Championship before the summer break, the South Tyrolean riders once again demonstrated their class. In the picturesque setting of Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo, the athletes secured three stage wins and numerous top-ten finishes.

Jakob Gampenrieder (Alp-Riders Meran) was the most impressive, taking first place in the 85 Junior category. Simon Herbst of Team TTS was also in top form, taking the day's victory in the hotly contested MX2 Challenge class. Norbert Lantschner (MC Evergreen) completed the South Tyrolean triple, taking the top spot in the Open Master category.
Other local pilots also showed strong performances: In the 65 Cadetti class, Felix Tschager and Richard Holzer (both Alp-Riders Meran) came in 9th and 14th. In the 85 Senior class, Gabriel Hueber (Alp-Riders Meran) took a strong fourth place, while Lorenz Vill (TTS) finished in 10th place.
In the 125 Junior category, Maximilian Rabensteiner (6th, Alp-Riders Meran) and David Schieder (8th, TTS) placed in the top ten. The MX2 Challenge category was particularly strong from a South Tyrolean perspective: In addition to winner Simon Herbst, Matteo Brusinelli (Motor's Sporting Leifers) also impressed with second place. Other strong results came from Andreas Höller (2th, TTS), Samuel Gottardi (9th, MC Evergreen), and Harald Buchschwenter (14st, Ferlu Racing).
In the MX2 Rider class, Andrea Asinari (Scuderia Dolomiti) and Peter Santi (TTS) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. In the MX2 Expert category, Michael Rabensteiner (Alp-Riders Meran) finished fourth, while Dominik Varotto (Ferlu Racing) finished ninth.
In the open classes, the veterans impressed: In addition to Norbert Lantschner's victory in the Open Master category, Maurizio Lubian (Ferlu Racing) took fourth place. In the Open Super Veterans category, Marco Belleri (3rd), Helmut Braun (4th), and Davide Varotto (7th) all finished in the top group. In the Open Veterans class, Mario Franzoi (Ferlu Racing) took a podium finish, taking a strong second place.
With three wins and numerous top placings, the South Tyrolean squad was a real force in Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo. After the summer break, they enter the decisive phase of the championship with confidence and plenty of momentum.
