The venue was near the town of Schiavi d'Abruzzo in the province of Chieti. The competitions, which lasted a full two days, were a head-to-head battle between several shooters, and the outcome was still uncertain until late afternoon. At the end of the fourth competition, Markus Zadra was crowned the winner in the senior category, two hits ahead of the Friulian shooter Pol Podetto Angelo, who had beaten him the previous time.
The wind conditions in Abruzzo during both dynamic long-distance competitions were, quite simply, extreme. To illustrate: To hit a target at 810 meters, you had to correct your aim by 3,2 meters to the right. With the corresponding calculation of other ballistic data that determine vertical bullet deviation, such as distance, temperature, air pressure, and humidity, this time it was a major challenge for all shooters.
