Gold was won by Frenchman Bertrand Clavel and silver by Austrian Stefan Zeindl in the open class +50 years, while in the amateur class the Italians Rudi Volpi and Angelo Manca took first and second place. While Markus Zadra was in fourth place behind a German shooter in the Open +50 class on the first day, he remained focused on the second and final day of the competition and ultimately took bronze with a seven-shot lead. The final lasted two whole days, from 8 a.m. to 17 p.m. and maintaining focus with 187 shots demanded a lot from the participants.
This is the fourth podium for the 58-year-old Kurtatscher in this discipline. With these results, Markus Zadra has qualified for the European Championships in Kisber (Hungary), where he will take part as a member of the Italian national team.
This is how dynamic long-range shooting works
While this competition almost exclusively uses prototypes of high-tech weapons, Markus Zadra is currently shooting with a slightly modified series weapon from an American manufacturer that is sold by the Bignami company. The company's sales manager, Manfred Gruber, and Markus Zadra have known each other for 47 years. The two were housed together in the Gamperheim Meran and attended middle school there.Dynamic Long Range Shooting, PRS (Precision Rifle Shooting) is dynamic shooting with large caliber rifles at distances of 200 to 1000 m that is particularly popular in the USA and in the northern countries of Finland, Norway and Sweden. However, some of the best shooters come from Germany, such as the overall winner of the professional open class Josef Sixt, but also from France, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
