Music and sport unite talents and values
Not only the members of the South Tyrolean Lions Club experienced a powerful evening of inclusion and solidarity, but also many of the athletes and companions from Special Olympics Italia – Team South Tyrol. Also lending their support were the exceptional athlete Tania Cagnotto and the successful snowboard cross racer Omar Visintin.

The Haydn Orchestra impressed not only with a very appealing program, but also with the inclusion of great young talents, such as the cello virtuoso Alessandro Sacchetti and the double bassist Matteo Spaggiari.
This festive setting gave athletes from Special Olympics Italia – Team South Tyrol the opportunity to share their messages. Anna Zingerle, Lorenzo Manganaro, and Michael Untertrifaller spoke about how important work, artistic pursuits, and especially sport are to them.
This benefit evening was organized with the aim of promoting and supporting, in particular, the sporting activities of people with cognitive disabilities. Our special thanks go to the Haydn Orchestra and its president, Paul Gasser, as well as the Lions Clubs of South Tyrol. Speaking on their behalf, Stefano Rizzo emphasized the great importance of their commitment to a barrier-free and inclusive society.
The rousing benefit concert also raised an impressive sum for the work of Special Olympics Italia – Team South Tyrol. Martha Stocker, President of Special Olympics – Team South Tyrol, thanked the Lions Clubs of South Tyrol most sincerely for this generous contribution and announced: “The use of this substantial sum will be decided jointly by the board. It is important not only to support our current athletes, but also to try to recruit more aspiring athletes.”
