New gymnastics state champions crowned

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the VSS/Raiffeisen individual state championship in artistic gymnastics for senior girls was held in Lana. In total, almost 60 girls fought for the coveted VSS/Raiffeisen state championship title.

The senior class competed on four apparatus: uneven bars, floor, beam and vault. The most successful athletes were the SC Meran athletes. They took home five possible gold medals. While SSV Brixen and SV Lana won two gold medals, SSV Bozen won one gold medal.

From a sporting point of view, Elettra Quintavalle (SSV Bozen) in the 2017-2016 category, Asia Berbenni (SC Meran) in the 2015 category, Stella Da Ronco (SC Meran) in the 2014 category, Leni Sofia Waldner (SV Lana) in the 2013 category, Valentina Kofler (SSV Brixen) in the 2012 category, Giada Filippi (SC Meran) in the 2011 category, Sophie Arduini (SC Meran) in the 2010 category, Miriam Putzer (SSV Brixen) and Daniela Tumpfer (SV Lana) in the 2009 category and Hanna Rainer (SC Meran) in the 2008 and older category were convincing.

"It wasn't just your performance that was impressive and praiseworthy today. The hard work, ambition and sportsmanship that you brought with you was also impressive," said Elisabeth Ladurner, VSS gymnastics representative. VSS district representative Thomas Ladurner was also there to congratulate the winners.

Next on the programme is the VSS/Raiffeisen team championship for senior girls, which will take place on Sunday, November 17th in Brixen.
