The European Championship is over for Giorgia Piccolin

Giorgia Piccolin was the only South Tyrolean who was still in the running at the European Table Tennis Championships in Linz (Austria). For her, however, the European Championships ended on Friday.

In the second round, the 28-year-old from Bolzano (WR 69) had to admit defeat to the Romanian Andreea Dragoman (WR 99) with 1:4 (11:9, 6:11, 10:12, 7:11, 5:11). A bitter defeat for Piccolin, as she is 30 positions ahead of the Romanian in the world rankings.

Debora Vivarelli from Eppan had to throw in the towel in the first round on Thursday. She lost to the outsider Bernadett Balint (WR 459) 1:4. This means that the European Table Tennis Championships are over for the South Tyrolean athletes.
