French Open final: In the spirit of history

The phrase "Victory belongs to the most tenacious" or "La victoire appartient au plus opiniatre" (Victory belongs to the most tenacious) is emblazoned in large letters on the stands of Court Philippe-Chatrier, the largest tennis stadium at the French Open. The most tenacious player on this epic final Sunday was Carlos Alcaraz, although Jannik Sinner also deserved the win.

The phrase is attributed to the French pilot Roland Garros and is considered a symbol of the fighting spirit needed to survive and win this demanding tournament.
