Djokovic injured? “I am very worried”

Novak Djokovic is actually scheduled to play the Olympic semi-final against Lorenzo Musetti on Friday evening. But it is more than questionable whether the Serb will be able to complete the match as planned.

"I'm very worried, I'm not making a secret of it," said Novak Djokovic after his quarter-final triumph over the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Serb won this victory with a real feat of strength after already being 0-4 down in the second set. But the victory takes its toll: his knee is injured. It is not clear whether Djokovic will be able to play against Musetti on Friday from 19 p.m.

As the 22-time Grand Slam winner announced, severe pain crept into his operated right knee during the Tsitsipas match. Despite this, Djokovic does not want to give up too quickly: "I want to play and win a medal for Serbia. If necessary, even against medical advice."

Cancellation for Canada Masters

What is certain, however, is that Djokovic will not be playing in the Canada Masters next week. The ATP 1000 tournament in Quebec and Ontario begins on Wednesday. In addition to the Serb, Carlos Alcaraz has also already cancelled. The Spaniard will face Felix Auger-Aliassime from Canada in the second Olympic semi-final on Friday from 13.30:XNUMX p.m.
