Halle & Wimbledon: The Sinner schedule on grass

Jannik Sinner doesn't have much time to recover from the strain of the French Open. The grass-court season begins for the 23-year-old in just a few days.

This week, the grass-court tournaments in Stuttgart and 's-Hertogenbosch are already underway. The classics in Halle and London's Queen's Club begin this weekend. Sinner is registered in Halle, as he was last year, where he aims to defend his title, which he won in the final against Hubert Hurkacz. This won't be easy, however, as the field of participants at the traditional tournament in North Rhine-Westphalia is top-class.

In addition to Sinner, Alexander Zverev (ATP 3) and Daniil Medvedev (ATP 11) have also registered for the ATP 500 tournament. French Open winner Carlos Alcaraz, along with Jack Draper and Lorenzo Musetti, will also be competing at Queen's Club. Sinner's goal is to adapt to the grass court as quickly as possible before the third Grand Slam tournament of the year begins at Wimbledon on June 30. It's already been confirmed that Sinner will be seeded No. 1 at Church Road.

Seppi also shone in Halle

Halle has traditionally been a good place for South Tyrol. Andreas Seppi reached the final here in 2015, losing to the great Roger Federer. Sinner played in Halle for the first time in 2019, but was eliminated in the first round of qualifying. In 2023, he had to retire in the quarterfinals against Alexander Bublik before lifting the trophy last year. It was his first and so far only tournament victory on grass.

The draw is scheduled for Saturday at 13 p.m. Sinner is registered in Halle not only for singles, but also for doubles with his good friend Lorenzo Sonego. Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, as well as Karen Khachanov and Hurkacz, also form top-class pairings.
