Around 700 children from a total of 30 South Tyrolean primary schools took part in four days of skiing lessons in several South Tyrolean ski areas. The collaboration with various organizations and partners was also impressive.
Numerous organizations and people were involved in the project, which shows that this project is close to many people's hearts. Especially the approximately 700 children who were able to experience unforgettable moments on the slopes of the Heideralm/Schöneben, Meran 2000, Reinswalder Bergbahnen, Jochgrimm, Vals-Jochtal and Sterzing-Roßkopf ski areas during these four days. The ski areas provided ski passes for children, accompanying adults and ski instructors. "We would also like to thank the president of the cable car companies, Helmuth Sartori, and of course all the ski areas mentioned, for the constructive and very unbureaucratic cooperation," explains FISI South Tyrol President Markus Ortler.
Positive conclusion
The ski rental company Rent and Go and private ski rental companies in the respective local ski areas helped the state winter sports association to rent out equipment. Ortler also thanks the board of the state professional association of ski instructors, its president Roby Demetz and Martin Corradini, who is responsible for training, who were able to get around 70 ski instructors together for the ski course and made the project possible in this form in the first place. "Special thanks also go to the ski schools, who provided the equipment for the lessons and thereby put a smile on many children's faces," says Ortler. Also involved were the regional councillor for mobility, Daniel Alfreider, his department director Martin Vallazza, the district director Mirko Waldner and the director of the South Tyrolean transport structures AG STA, Joachim Dejaco, who took over the financing of the transport of the students to the respective ski areas and back again. "Thanks to everyone involved for their commitment to the well-being of the participating schoolchildren, as well as for the trust they have placed in us," Ortler concluded happily, adding: "We are already looking forward to the third edition of the project in December 2025!"
