We're going to Livigno for a race.

Many World Cup skiers weren't entirely enthusiastic about the Super-G in Livigno. It's the only race on the schedule in the tax-free town on the Swiss border, so many speed skiers travel to Livigno specifically for this event. There's no training, but there is an open run on the slope on Boxing Day.
Nine athletes will be competing for the Azzurri speed team: Marco Abbruzzese, Benjamin Alliod, Guglielmo Bosca, Mattia Casse, Giovanni Franzoni, Christof Innerhofer, Dominik Paris, Max Perathoner, and Florian Schieder. Schieder recently lamented his performance in the Super-G on the Saslong course, even saying, "My desire to race in the Super-G isn't increasing. They probably won't let me race at all anymore."
The success streak is set to continue in Livigno
The coaching team, led by head coach Max Carca, hopes the winning streak continues on Italian soil. In Val Gardena, the speed team, including Schieder (who secured his third career podium finish) and Dominik Paris (a podium finish in the Super-G), achieved strong results. Particularly noteworthy was the resurgence of 24-year-old Giovanni Franzoni, who finally demonstrated his considerable talent in the World Cup.Edit Profile
