Italy's home World Cup with 3 South Tyroleans and a star

The Junior World Championships begin next week in Tarvisio (Italy). The Italian squad includes three South Tyroleans.

The best-known name in the Italian squad is certainly that of Giorgia Collomb. The 18-year-old won gold with Italy in the team competition at the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and made a name for herself in the skiing scene.


From a South Tyrolean perspective, Sarah Thaler the most famous name. The 20-year-old speed specialist from Val Gardena has already scored points twice in the World Cup. Also in the mix is Emanuel Lamp (20), whose best result was 18th place in a European Cup downhill. The third South Tyrolean is called Jacob Franzelin (19). The technical specialist from Montan can boast two victories in FIS races to date.
