Julia Scheib has definitively arrived among the world's elite giant slalom skiers. The 27-year-old celebrated her second victory in the premier skiing discipline on Sunday. The giant slalom specialist, who was in second place after the first run, left the entire competition behind in the final run, distancing second-placed Sara Hector by more than half a second.
Alice Robinson, who led at the halfway point and won the previous day, made too many mistakes in the final run and ultimately finished in third place. The New Zealander now has a new competitor in Scheib in the Giant Slalom World Cup, as Federica Brignone remains sidelined with an injury.

Asja Zenere, who was fourth at the halfway point, showed signs of nerves. The Italian, who had never qualified so high before, couldn't find her rhythm in the final and ultimately dropped back to 13th place. Lara Della Mea was the best Italian in ninth place, while Sofia Goggia finished eleventh.
The speed season is now beginning.
The women's Ski World Cup continues next weekend with a speed triple in St. Moritz. From Friday to Sunday, the prestigious Swiss resort will host two downhills and a Super-G. These will also be the first speed races of the new season for the women skiers.Edit Profile
