Feller wins the Adelboden thriller

In the absence of the injured Marco Schwarz, Austria's hopes in the technical competitions rest on Manuel Feller. The North Tyrolean was in fifth place after the first run and still took the win. It's hard to believe: This is only the fourth World Cup victory for the 31-year-old, who has been among the world's best for a long time. Feller is now also leading in the Slalom World Cup.

In the fog of Adelboden, Atle Lie McGrath almost intercepted him. The Norwegian was in the lead until the last split, but in the end he had to admit defeat by two hundredths of a second. The 23-year-old had already come second in Adelboden last year - behind his buddy Lucas Braathen, who has since retired.

Another Austrian, Dominik Raschner, came third, while half-time leader Alexander Steen Olsen was eliminated after just a few goals. The 22-year-old Norwegian was bitterly disappointed afterwards. The best Azzurro was Tommaso Sala in seventh place. The Italian was completely unexpectedly in third place at halftime. Sala lost some ground in the final, but he still celebrated at the finish.

Kastlunger fights his way up After Alex Vinatzer was eliminated, Tobias Kastlunger was the only South Tyrolean in the second round. The man from Enneberg fought his way forward from 26th place and ended up in 16th place. This meant that Kastlunger won slalom World Cup points for the third time in his career. The 24-year-old is getting better and better.

The men's ski world cup continues this week in Wengen. The first training run is scheduled for Tuesday.
