No departures on Friday: Now there's an emergency program.

The weather and scheduling chaos in Beaver Creek continues. Now the first downhill race of the season is scheduled for Thursday – what happens after that is anyone's guess.

Difficult snow conditions and gloomy weather forecasts have forced the International Ski Federation (FIS) to postpone the World Cup races in Beaver Creek. The plan that the organizers had already prepared as a contingency several days ago is now being implemented.

The first downhill race of the men's alpine skiing season will therefore be moved forward from Friday to Thursday (19 p.m. CET) and, due to a lack of snow in the valley, will be run on a shortened course. A decision regarding the Super-G on Saturday will be made at a later date. Should it be canceled, Val Gardena could step in as a replacement venue on December 18.

The organizers in Beaver Creek are reacting to the forecast of bad weather on Friday. The second practice session on Wednesday can unexpectedly take place after all – the clearing fog has made it possible. Test runs are currently underway.
