A victory, a second place, and a fourth place – Lindsey Vonn caused quite a stir in St. Moritz last weekend. Now the question is being raised: Will the American really call it quits at the Olympic Games in Cortina?
Vonn had originally announced that she would race her last event at the Cortina Olympics on February 12th, unless a chance at a title arose afterward. And that's precisely the scenario that now seems likely to unfold. "I never thought I'd be wearing the red jersey in the downhill after just a few races," Vonn explained after her performances in St. Moritz. ORF-Interview.

One thing is certain: if Vonn continues to race down the downhill slopes at such a rapid pace, she has a real chance of winning the small crystal globe. She currently leads the standings with 180 points, well ahead of Emma Aicher (145) and Magdalena Egger (116). That's why the 41-year-old now says: "I believe I'll be racing until the very end." By that, she means the end of the 2025/26 season.

If the ski superstar does indeed finish the World Cup season after the Olympics, this would extend his career by a maximum of six races. One Super-G and one Downhill race each will still be held in Soldeu, Val di Fassa, and at the World Cup Finals in Lillehammer.
