Mr Allegre is probably in shock himself. There is hardly a weekend when downhill skiing is not carried out without someone being injured, even in France. Slaloms and giant slaloms are already dangerous there; in Val d'Isere, several skiers crash every year. I have seen the film of the other crashes in the same place: it was clearly a sheet of ice that the skiers were not prepared for. But if you have to prepare a slope in such a way that you can ski at full speed everywhere, can't you also assume that you ski with your head, as Odermatt suggested in the interview?
