Secret revealed: Hirscher remarried

Marcel Hirscher has remarried. The ski star married his partner Lucy a few weeks ago, a spokesperson for the 36-year-old confirmed to APA.

The ceremony took place in a small circle in their own living room. "Love asked, I answered," Hirscher wrote on social media on Tuesday evening, accompanying a photo showing him and Lucy in traditional costume, flanked by two dogs, in a meadow.

Hirscher has been with his new wife for about three years. The Salzburg native has two children from his first marriage to Laura; they divorced in 2021. There has been speculation about the wedding in recent days because of a ring on his finger.

The eight-time overall World Cup winner temporarily ended his active skiing career in 2019, but last year he attempted a comeback after five years. Since then, the seven-time world champion has no longer competed for Austria, but for the Netherlands, his mother's home country.

Return to Sölden?

After suffering a cruciate ligament tear in December 2024, Hirscher is determined to give it his all again in the upcoming Olympic season. He recently completed his first training turns with gates at the indoor ski hall in Wittenburg, northern Germany, as he showed on Instagram on Monday. The two-time Olympic champion has only been back on skis since the beginning of the month. According to his spokesperson, Hirscher will decide "very shortly," as he did last year, whether he will compete in the giant slalom in Sölden at the World Cup opening event on October 26.
