The new ski hero shines: engagement in paradise

After becoming one of the biggest stars in the skiing scene last winter, a downhill skier has now also celebrated a private moment of glory.

The icing on the cake, the icing on the i, the cherry on the cake—call it whatever you want. Ski star Miha Hrobat has definitely put the finishing touch to his winter. The Slovenian downhill skier recently proposed to his long-time girlfriend Lana—and the lady of her heart said yes!

After by far the best season of his career, Hrobat is currently enjoying a well-deserved vacation in the Maldives. On one of the dream beaches in this holiday paradise, the 30-year-old then took out his engagement ring and proposed to his girlfriend. "She said yes," Hrobat captioned a photo, adding with a wink: "No wonder."

The two have been a couple for several years and already have two children: daughter Ava is four years old, and son Maks is two. Now, a big wedding is coming up soon. Things are looking up for Miha Hrobat – both personally and professionally. The Slovenian made his big breakthrough on the slopes last winter.

Hrobat raced to the podium in three World Cup races: The 30-year-old finished third in Beaver Creek, the Lauberhorn downhill in Wengen, and Kvitfjell. He finished the season in fourth place in the downhill rankings, missing the podium by a measly seven points. This underscores what a dream season Hrobat has had. And that, at least since this winter, he's become one of the biggest downhill stars. Soon, he'll even be able to call himself a husband!
