At the Ski World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the Swiss athletes achieved a historic success: In the men's team combination, which was held for the first time, they secured all three medal places. The duo Franjo von Allmen and Loïc Meillard won gold, followed by Alexis Monney and Tanguy Nef with silver and Stefan Rogentin and Marc Rochat, who took bronze.
25-year-old Alexis Monney was overcome with emotion: He jumped over the fence at the finish area and stormed straight to the podium. In an interview with SRF The former 2020 Junior World Champion reports that he developed this plan during his race in case the two Swiss ended up on the podium. "In the rush of emotions, that's how it went," reports the Swiss.

In the downhill, Franjo von Allmen laid the foundation for the Swiss team's success with a strong performance. Loïc Meillard extended this lead further in the slalom, so that the duo triumphed with a lead of 0,27 seconds over their compatriots Monney and Nef. The third Swiss team with Rogentin and Rochat completed the podium and underlined the Swiss dominance in the discipline.
The Swiss' triple victory is further proof of their outstanding form at this World Championship. Franjo von Allmen had previously won gold in the downhill race, while Marco Odermatt triumphed in the Super-G. With a total of six out of nine possible medals in the men's competitions so far, the Swiss athletes are making a clear statement and are going into the remaining races of this World Championship with great confidence.
