The big skiing comeback after cancer diagnosis

One year after being diagnosed with lymphoma, Swiss ski racer Niels Hintermann is about to make a comeback in top-level sport.

He's doing "tip-top," said the winner of three World Cup races, who has just returned from a training camp in South America. After a difficult time with successful chemotherapy at the beginning of the year, he's now enjoying being able to train and travel again. He also wants to be competitive again by the start of the speed season in early December.

Nevertheless, his illness has put many things in his life into perspective. "Certain things seem less dramatic. Other things, like sunrises, I suddenly enjoy more again," Hintermann said. Above all, he's happy to have more "normality" again and to be able to answer the question of how he's doing with a succinct "perfect."
