Colorful costume and lots of love: Brignone is having fun again

After her serious fall and brutal injury, Federica Brignone has at least regained some of her smile. On Saturday, she was the star guest at a colorful party.

Federica Brignone is the tragic heroine of this ski season. After an outstanding winter in which she became world champion and won the overall World Cup, she suffered a brutal crash in a virtually meaningless Italian championship race and suffered severe injuries. A torn cruciate ligament, broken tibia, and fractured fibula – the diagnosis was devastating.

This accident occurred on April 3, two and a half weeks ago. After surgery and a hospital stay of several days, Brignone has now begun her rehabilitation. The newly crowned overall World Cup winner chose JMedical, the medical facility of record-breaking football champions Juventus, for this purpose.

An 80s party with star guest Brignone

As Brignone emphasized in several interviews, friends and family have been a great support for her during this difficult time. And over the Easter weekend, the 34-year-old was showered with love. On Saturday, the 37-time World Cup winner attended an 80s-themed party in her hometown of La Thuile in the Aosta Valley. As befits her, Brignone—supported by her crutches—presented herself in a colorful and striking outfit.

Photos and videos showed that the Italian was clearly having a great time. Brignone proved that she can celebrate even while sitting on a chair. Several friends from the national team were also present at the party, including Elisa Platino from Merano, Asja Zenere, and Beatrice Sola. They all helped Federica Brignone regain at least some of her smile.
