Brignone skipped the team combination on Tuesday: This seems to have paid off, because two days later "Fede" appeared fresh again in the first giant slalom run - and how: The 34-year-old conjured up a fabulous time in the snow with start number 4, which left the competition struggling to match. Second-placed Alice Robinson from New Zealand is already 67 hundredths behind Brignone, who cheered loudly at the finish.

Third place, Paula Moltzan (USA), has already lost 1,24 seconds to the overall World Cup leader. Behind her, Lara Gut-Behrami and Sara Hector are within striking distance of the medals.
