End of the suffering? Superstar ready for ski comeback
Since his serious fall in Wengen over a year and a half ago, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has been fighting for his return to the Ski World Cup. Now, the Norwegian has hinted on social media that he finally sees light at the end of the tunnel.

A deep cut in his calf, which also damaged important nerves, appeared to be Kilde's biggest hurdle on his way back. Yet it's his shoulder that has been bothering the Norwegian for over a year. Since suffering from an aggressive infection last July that also affected parts of the bone, the 32-year-old's daily routine has consisted of rehabilitation rather than skiing—although he has since returned to the slopes.
At the end of February, Kilde had to undergo surgery for the third time in just a few months. At the Hochrum Private Clinic in Innsbruck, two muscles were reattached and reconstructed with tendon transplants from his back and leg. Since then, the limited mobility in his left shoulder has been Kilde's biggest problem.
Spending time with Kilde
Apparently, the Norwegian is on the road to recovery. He posted photos on social media of a visit to his ski equipment supplier, Atomic. Traditionally, this is the time to take measurements and adjust equipment for the upcoming season. He also posted photos of himself and Aksel Lund Svindal eating ice cream in Innsbruck. The 2020 overall World Cup winner captioned the post: "Will it soon be time for snow again?"Two Norwegian ski legends: Aksel Lund Svindal and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde
This statement suggests an imminent return to skiing, especially since his girlfriend, Mikaela Shiffrin, also expressed her euphoria in the comments. One thing is certain: the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina are still more than six months away. So there's still plenty of time to get in shape for the Winter Games.
