Former ski star: dream wedding after divorce

One of the best slalom skiers of recent years is back in love after a turbulent time.

She has caused quite a stir in the mountains of the world for years, winning World Cup races and achieving numerous podium finishes. Therefore, the location for her wedding couldn't have been more fitting: Veronika Zuzulova (41), a former star slalom skier from Slovakia, married her boyfriend Gasp Valette a few days ago – against a picturesque mountain backdrop in the French Alps.

This means the happiness of the multiple World Cup winner and mother of two is complete again. The emphasis is on "returned," because Zuzulova's private life has recently experienced some turmoil.

As Velez-Zuzulova she started

A brief look back: In April 2012, the Slovakian married her French fitness coach Romain Velez, which is why she began competing under the name Velez-Zuzulova in the 2012/13 season. From then on, the technical specialist caused quite a stir. She established herself among the world's elite slalom athletes, winning four races and achieving a total of 30 podium finishes. Zuzulova narrowly missed winning the small slalom crystal globe twice, finishing second.

In 2018, the Eastern European ended her career and shortly thereafter became a mother to little Jules. However, her marriage to Velez broke up three years ago, and they divorced. After this difficult period, Zuzulova found happiness again with French ski instructor Gasp Valette.

The two became parents to little Aksel a year ago, and now their fairytale wedding in the French mountains followed. From now on, the 183-time World Cup competitor will be known as Veronika Valette-Zuzulova.
