When the new World Cup season begins in Sölden on Saturday, many eyes will be on Mikaela Shiffrin. The greatest female skier of all time is once again the favorite for almost all the major trophies. But that's not the only reason it will be a special winter for the American: After a break of almost two years, her sweetheart, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, is returning to the racing circuit.
Shiffrin has a variety of emotions when she thinks about her Aleks' comeback. "When I think about it, I usually start to cry. Basically out of joy, but it also makes me a little scared. There are many emotions involved," the 30-year-old said on Monday evening at Sports and talk at ServusTV.

The Norwegian was subsequently taken to a hospital in Bern, where his wife, Mikaela, immediately rushed to his side and cared for him. Just a few days ago, Kilde revealed that it was in those moments that he finally realized that Shiffrin was the woman of his life. (SportNews reported).
Shiffrin took care of her Aleksander after the serious crash.
Kilde missed the entire last ski season after this crash, but is now aiming for a comeback in December. When he hits the slopes in the first downhill races of the season in North America, Shiffrin will be especially excited—and, above all, hoping that her Aleks makes it to the finish line safely.
End of career can wait
Incidentally, the American has Sports and talk She also explained that she's still a long way from retiring. "Over the past few years, I've always thought: If I quit, I'll quit completely. But now I'm thinking, what if I pursue a slightly more conservative plan, with fewer disciplines? That would give me more time to explore other things in life."Edit Profile
