The ski dream couple got married

The ski circus is currently in the grip of wedding fever. Several stars have tied the knot in recent weeks, including two Austrian skiers.

While winter is the high season on the ski slopes, in summer the wedding bells have to work overtime. No wonder, because which of the top international athletes has the time and nerves to say "I do" in the cold months? So it's no surprise that from June onwards the number of wedding announcements just starts to pile up. Another recent one concerns a downhill world champion and his equally fast partner: Vincent Kriechmayr and Michaela Heider have married.

The former ski racer and ski crosser from Styria has ended her active career this winter at the age of 28. So it's a good thing that she has now informed her fans of the good news in her private life and posted some snapshots from the wedding with her Vincent on social media along with the words "It's official". This was the result of a five-year relationship between the two and a dream wedding that was in the making.

While Michaela will be looking elsewhere professionally, Kriechmayr wants to be one of the fastest skiers in the world again next season. The 32-year-old has more than proven his potential with two World Championship gold medals, a Super-G crystal globe and 18 World Cup victories.

A large number of colleagues congratulated the couple in the comments on the post. Congratulations came from Marco Schwarz, Nadia Delago, Kira Weidle, Katharina Liensberger and Nina Ortlieb, among others.
