Jarl Magnus Riiber on farewell tour

The Norwegian high-flyer was also among the top performers at the Nordic Combined World Cup in Oslo on Saturday. However, a German snatched the victory.

Jarl Magnus Riiber, the dominant Nordic combined athlete in recent years, announced his retirement in January at just 27 years old. The reason for this is a serious intestinal illness that had consistently caused him health problems. However, he still aims to finish this season in first place. On Saturday, however, his closest rival, Vinzenz Geiger, won.

The German is 71 points behind Riiber in the overall World Cup, but will have to hope for a miracle to dislodge the successful Norwegian from the top spot. Austrian Johannes Lamparter finished third on Saturday.

Teenager wins women's race

For the women, everything was already decided before Saturday's race. Nathalie Armbruster, just 19 years old, will take home the big crystal globe. However, she "only" finished sixth on Saturday; the victory went to Gyda Westvold Hansen, ahead of Lisa Hirner (+53 seconds) and Ida Marie Hagen (+1.00,6:XNUMX minutes).
