Hannah Auchentaller has often indicated in the young season that she is a force to be reckoned with this year. The 23-year-old delivered consistently, especially on the shooting range, and was flawless several times. This was also the case on Friday in the sprint in France, when she once again cleared all 10 targets. In the final round, Auchentaller gave it her all and ended up in 9th place.
The 2023 relay world champion thus smashed her best World Cup result and achieved her first top ten place. Things did not go as planned for Dorothea Wierer, however. The second South Tyrolean in the field again messed up in the standing shooting and missed twice. In the end, that was enough for 20th place for the "Miss Biathlon".

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet took the win at her home race. It was the Frenchwoman's first win of the season. Despite a penalty lap, Braisaz-Bouchet narrowly beat the flawless Franziska Preuß by a whisker (1,4 seconds). The German kept the yellow jersey, however. Anamarija Lampic came third with two penalty laps. The Slovenian is considered the strongest runner in the field. The World Cup in Le Grand Bornand continues on Saturday with the men's (12.30 p.m.) and women's (14.45 p.m.) pursuit races.
