Hannah Auchentaller sets a clear exclamation point

In the background of the upcoming Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, an IBU Cup is currently taking place in Arber (Germany). Hannah Auchentaller has left everyone behind.

Hannah Auchentaller defies the World Cup nomination and makes a name for herself with a victory in the IBU Cup. At the start of the stage in Bavaria, the 22-year-old from Antholz took her second victory in total in the second highest racing series. With a flawless shooting, Auchentaller distanced Norway's Emilie Aagheim Kalkenberg by almost half a minute. Kalkenberg missed twice in the standing shooting.

Sara Scattolo, another Azzurra, came third – in heavy snowfall. The Italian, who only made her World Cup debut in Antholz, missed a total of one target. Another South Tyrolean, Linda Zingerle, took part on Thursday. The 21-year-old from Antholz took 27th place with two errors.

In the men's race there was a Norwegian six-fold victory in the afternoon - led by Martin Uldal. Behind them, Nicoló Betemps, the best Azzurro, came in 7th. The South Tyroleans also showed a solid performance: David Zingerle and Christoph Pircher took places 2 and 17 with 26 shooting errors each. On Saturday, the Arbers have two more sprints on the program.
