Biathlon baby is here – and the mother is astonishing

Shortly before the start of the season there was good news for a biathlete: she became a mother for the first time. But now she is surprising her colleagues.

The Latvian biathlete Baiba Bendika caused a stir at the beginning of July. The 32-year-old announced her pregnancy at the time - and at the same time presented an ambitious plan. She wants to return to the biathlon stage this winter.

In the last few weeks she has proven that these are not just empty words. The round baby bump didn't stop her from training. As Bendika announced a few days ago, her baby has now been born. The little boy goes by the name Emils and came into this world at the end of September.

Under the posting, the international biathlon federation asked: “Will we see you this winter?” The Latvian biathlete replied: “I hope so.” The Latvian appeared on social media, becoming the first biathlete in her country to make it into the top 5 of the World Cup, is already back in the weight room, where she is working on her comeback. Mom and full-blooded biathlete – this lady is a real power woman.
