“Oops!” Biathlon star slowed down by injury

The biathletes are already diligently working on their form for the upcoming season. A ten-time world champion has now been sidelined due to injury.

"Oops!" Julia Simon began her Instagram post. Alongside her caption, the 2022/23 overall World Cup winner is pictured wearing a splint around her right foot, accepting her fate with meaningful gestures. "The motto of the last few weeks: adaptation," the 28-year-old added, demonstrating her sense of humor. "An ankle sprain at the end of May has thrown my original schedule into disarray."

Simon didn't provide any further details about how the injury occurred. However, in the photo gallery accompanying the post, the Frenchwoman proved that she's not letting such a setback deter her. Whether at the gym, boxing training, or attending a rugby match, a sprain apparently doesn't bother Simon. Depending on the severity, an ankle sprain can take different amounts of time to heal. A minor injury would take as little as two to three weeks. Simon could therefore be gradually on her way back to her normal training routine.
