Saturday is the absolute big day in the Graubünden World Cup venue: the relay races are about to begin. It starts with the women's team competition at 12.05:XNUMX p.m., and three hours later it's the men's turn. The favorites are clearly assigned, because on this day too, only the biathlon superpowers Norway and France can win the world championship title. Behind them, a handful of other nations are vying for medals - both in the women's and men's categories. Italy is one of them.

The Azzurri will compete with their best team. Dorothea Wierer will also be there, who will be after the botched single mixed further World Championship appearances were in doubt. Wierer trained less than her teammates on Friday, but feels fit enough to attack again in the relay. She will start the race after her Antholz teammate Hanna Auchentaller. Samuela Comola and Michela Carrara will then take over.

In the men's race, individual vice world champion Tommaso Giacomel will lead the team through the field like a locomotive. He will be the last runner, before Daniele Cappellari, Lukas Hofer from Montal, and Elia Zeni will go out on the track - in this starting order. Didier Bionaz was not considered.

Wierer and Giacomel will also be the athletes who will represent Italy in the final mass start races on Sunday. They are the only Azzurri who qualified for the World Championship finals based on their world ranking position.
