Marit Folie shows off at the Junior World Championships

The Junior World Championships for cross-country skiers are currently taking place in Schilpario (Bergamo province), and a young South Tyrolean is causing a sensation.

Marit Folie finished fourth in the 10-kilometer freestyle race on Friday. The 19-year-old from St. Valentin auf der Heide missed a medal by just 4,6 seconds. In the days before, Folie had already made a name for herself with two ninth places.

Marie Schwitzer (Sarntal) and Romina Bachmann (St. Martin in Gsies) are two other South Tyroleans taking part in the Junior World Championships. They are also 19 years old. Schwitzer finished in 23rd, 19th and 26th place. Bachmann came in 17th, 28th and 52nd place. There is a relay race to finish the event on Sunday.
