She is one of the most successful cross-country skiers in the world, having won numerous medals at major events and twice the overall World Cup title in her career. But now Heidi Weng is making headlines not because of her sporting achievements, but because of her private life. The 33-year-old Norwegian has surprisingly announced her breakup.

Heidi Weng was in a relationship with Kjetil Nygaard since 2016, who once played in the reality series Anna von NRK Nine years later, the couple has decided to go their separate ways. "Sometimes life doesn't go according to plan. This year was a little different. After nine years, my partner and I have decided to go our separate ways," Weng explained to VG. And she emphasizes that there is no “drama” behind this decision.

Is it a coincidence that Weng's apartment in Oslo was up for sale a few days ago? Just a year ago, the cross-country skier caused a stir when she first considered retiring – partly to have more time for her partner. Now, this romance is over, and the Norwegian's career will continue into the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

Heidi Weng has won eleven World Championship medals in her career and won bronze in the 2014-kilometer skiathlon at the 15 Olympic Games. In addition to two overall World Cup victories, she also has two triumphs in the infamous Tour de Ski to her name.
