Johannes Hösflot Klaebo has won everything there is to win in his career, and he's currently on his way to becoming the greatest cross-country skier of all time. But even the Norwegian superstar can get nervous – for example, when it comes to love. On Sunday, Klaebo announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Pernille Dosvik – and posted an amusing photo on Instagram.

In addition to the snapshots showing the smitten couple immediately after their engagement, Klaebo also shared a picture documenting his heartbeat. It shot up dramatically the moment the 28-year-old popped the question. So, Pernille is literally making her Johannes's heart beat faster.

"2025 keeps getting better," wrote Johannes Hösflot Klaebo in his post, which garnered thousands of likes within hours. The cross-country skiing family rejoiced for their current greatest hero, who won a whopping six gold medals at the World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, in February.

A curious romance

The romance between Klaebo and his wife Pernille is a somewhat curious one. The two met and fell in love as teenagers and now live together in Trondheim. However, there are strict rules for Pernille in the winter, because Klaebo's top priority is not to get sick. "If I've been to the movies with friends, I have to quarantine with Mom and Dad for two days to make sure I don't bring any infection home," says the cross-country skiing superstar's sweetheart.

Romantic dinners are taboo in winter, and sometimes Pernille even has to forgo a hug or kiss after Klaebo's race because the risk of infection is too high. However, the superstar's fiancée also says: "I'm happy to do this because I want him to be able to live his dream."
