Daniel Grassl celebrates comeback

The Merano figure skating star competed in his last competition in spring 2023. Now he is back on the tour. At the ISU Challenge "Denis Ten Memorial" in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), he finished sixth in the short program.

For over a year, 22-year-old Daniel Grassl from Merano has been training in Turin under the direction of coach Edoardo De Bernardis. He is currently celebrating his season debut in the second highest competition series in the international figure skating scene.

After some minor uncertainties, Grassl came in sixth in the field of 13 men. A very respectable result. On Saturday he will perform the freestyle and take on the role of Billy Elliot, for whom dancing gives him a feeling of freedom.

competitions in Japan and Finland

After the competition in Kazakhstan, Grassl's schedule includes the Grand Prix competitions in Japan (8 to 10 November) and Finland (15 to 17 November). The long-term goal is the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina.
