The prodigy from Emilia Romagna has enjoyed success after success this season. Tabanelli celebrated her first World Cup victories, won the prestigious X Games, secured the overall freeski victory, and can now call herself world champion. On Saturday evening, the Italian was in a class of her own in her signature discipline, Big Air.
Tabanelli qualified for the final of the top 8 in third place. There, she impressively demonstrated why she is currently the best freestyler in the world. She received 87,75 points from the jury for her first jump and 89,00 for her second. No other athlete came close to Tabanelli's 176,75 points. 34-year-old Swiss athlete Sarah Höfflin (170,75) took second place, while Anni Karava of Finland (167,75) was delighted with the bronze. Tabanelli thus ensured a perfect end to the World Championships after finishing a disappointing fourth in the slopestyle.

"I don't think there's a better way to end this crazy season—I'm simply speechless," said Tabanelli after her triumph. "I'm overwhelmed and incredibly happy about the gold medal. If there's one secret to my success, it's my love for this sport. It's incredible that I won both the Junior and Professional World Championships within one year. I couldn't be happier."
