FREESTYLE:Flora Tabanelli has written Italian freestyle history. The 17-year-old won the first victory of an Azzurra in the Slopestyle World Cup in Stoneham (USA). With 80,41 points, Tabanelli won ahead of the Chinese Ruyi Yang and the American Rell Harwood. There was little to gain for the Val Gardena skier, however. Renè MonteleoneHe did not get beyond 24th place in his qualifying group on Friday and thus missed the final by a wide margin.

ARTISTIC TRACK TOBOGGANING: There were no top placings for South Tyrol’s lugers at the World Cup finals in China. When the German Julia Taubitz won, Verena Hofer from Feldthurns as the best Azzurra in 11th place (+1,987). Nina Zöggeler and Sandra Robatscher, both from Tiers, finished the race in 15th (+2,486) and 16th (+2,522). In the doubles, Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer the podium after a big mistake. They finished 4th with a lead of almost 5 seconds.

ALPINE SKIING: Marco Abbruzzese celebrated his first victory in the European Cup at the men's European Cup Super-G in Sarajevo (Bosnia). The 22-year-old Italian won ahead of the Swiss Lenz Hächler and the Austrian Andreas Ploier. Max Perathoner from Val Gardena had to settle for 26th place and Emanuel Lamp was eliminated.

SKI JUMPING: At the Women’s World Cup in Hinzenbach, Lara Malsiner confirmed her top form. The Val Gardena native jumped into the top ten again with a strong second run. She even achieved her best result of the season with 7th place. The victory went to the Slovenian Nika Prevc. Jessica Malsiner narrowly missed qualifying for the second round, finishing in 31st place.
