Alex Verginer's internal battle for the Olympics

Italy's men's bobsleigh team is expected to secure two Olympic spots. One of them will almost certainly go to Patrick Baumgartner. Alex Verginer from Val Badia and Mattia Variola are vying for the second Olympic starting place.

“I hope to be there as a pilot at the Olympic Games,” explains Verginer, who plans to compete in both the two-man and four-man bobsleigh. His partners are not yet confirmed and will change depending on form and teamwork.
