Insam and Malsiner win silver

The Italian Ski Jumping Championships took place on Tuesday at the Olympic ski jump in Val di Fiemme.

International athletes were also able to participate in the open competitions in Predazzo. Austrian Stefan Rainer won the men's event, ahead of German Andreas Wellinger. Third place went to Giovanni Bresadola, who thus secured the Italian championship title. Alex Insam from Val Gardena finished fifth, behind German Karl Geiger, and took silver. Francesco Cecon secured bronze in eighth place.

In the women's competition, local favorite Annika Sieff took first place. Silver went to Jessica Malsiner from St. Ulrich, and bronze to Nordic combined skier Daniela Dejori from St. Christina.

Maximilian Gartner from Val Gardena can call himself Italian champion in the junior category. Leonie Runggaldier, also from Val Gardena, secured the gold medal in the junior women's category.
