The wind blows away the great Prevc record.

In the dense snowstorm of Zakopane, Four Hills Tournament winner Domen Prevc faltered for the first time since November, thus missing out on a record.

The 26-year-old Slovenian finished only 27th in the Polish ski jumping stronghold after jumps of 126,5 and 113,5 meters, thus failing to achieve his 13th consecutive World Cup podium finish. Sven Hannawald jokingly called it "a scandal".

With 13 consecutive top-three finishes, he would have equaled the record held by Janne Ahonen of Finland. The victory went to Prevc's compatriot Anze Lanisek. Austrians Jan Hörl and Manuel Fettner also made it onto the podium.

Best season result for Insam

Alex Insam also had reason to be happy on Sunday, achieving his best result of the season: The Val Gardena native jumped 128,5 and 119 meters respectively, thus securing a strong 19th place.

On Sunday, the snowfall in Poland was so heavy that ARD expert Hannawald placed a large pile of snow on his cap. The subsequent competition was carried out at a high pace to keep the track clear in light of the heavy precipitation.

Nika Prevc's narrow victory

Meanwhile, the women competed on Sunday in Ljubno, Slovenia, where local favorite and season dominator Nika Prevc secured a narrow victory. The 20-year-old edged out Austrian Lisa Eder by just one point. Katharina Schmid finished third, 18 points behind. Jessia Malsiner from Val Gardena finished in 32nd place.
