Dominik Zuech: Good finish in Canada

A Ski Cross World Cup weekend came to a close on Saturday in Craigleith, Canada. Right in the thick of it: Dominik Zuech from Lana.

South Tyrolean ski crosser Dominik Zuech (Lana) finished Saturday's race in 12th place. He can definitely be satisfied with that. In the round of XNUMX, the Lana native prevailed in a four-man heat against Jonas Bachl-Staudinger and Tobias Baur (only Johannes Rohrweck was faster), but was then eliminated by a very narrow margin in the quarterfinals: Zuech placed third in his heat behind Alex Fiva (SUI) and Christoph Danksagmüller (AUT).

The men's victory went to Florian Wilmsmann (GER), who prevailed against local favorites Reece Howden and Kevin Drury. The women's race was won by Swiss rider Fanny Smith, also ahead of two Canadians: Courtney Hoffos (2nd) and Abby Mcewen. The best Azzurra rider was Jole Galli, who finished fourth.

Final next week

Next weekend, the final ski cross races of the season will take place in Idre Fjäll (Sweden). Afterwards, the ski crossers will head to Engadin, where the World Championships will take place.
