World Championship gold: Michela Moioli crowns her career

The Italian boardercrosser Michela Moioli crowned her great career with World Championship gold on Friday in Engadin (Switzerland).

Moioli has already won five World Championship medals in her career. Arguably the best boardercrosser of recent years, she now completed her medal collection with gold. In the final, Moioli narrowly defeated Britain's Charlotte Bankes in a heart-stopping final. Julia Pereira De Sousa of France took bronze.

Afterwards, 29-year-old Moioli's joy knew no bounds. The emotional Bergamo native screamed out her relief and burst into tears. Moioli is considered a good friend of skier Sofia Goggia and won Olympic gold in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Visintin out early

South Tyrolean Omar Visintin was eliminated in the round of 16. The Algund native is still struggling with an ankle injury and isn't fully fit. Gold went to Canadian Eliot Grondin. Silver and bronze went to Frenchman Loan Bozzolo and Austrian Alessandro Hämmerle, respectively.
