FIS Race Directors Uwe Beier and Peter Krogoll not only provided feedback to the organizing committee on last year's event. During the meeting ahead of the 15th edition of the Visa FIS Snowboard World Cup in Carezza Dolomites, which will take place on Thursday, December 18, the program for the sporting event was also finalized.
The collaboration between Carezza Dolomites as the venue and the Visa FIS Snowboard World Cup is one of the longest-running in the premier parallel snowboarding racing series. On Thursday, December 18, when a men's and women's parallel giant slalom will take place at the foot of the Latemar, the 15th edition of the World Cup will take place in the Eggental Valley. A remarkable milestone that very few other destinations can boast.
This was also emphasized by FIS Race Director for Boardercross & Snowboard, Uwe Beier, during the traditional summer inspection. "A survey among the athletes has shown that the Pra Di Tori slope is the most technically demanding in the entire World Cup. The parallel giant slalom next December will take place during the Olympic season and will therefore be even more important, especially for the strong Italian athletes with a view to the Olympic Games in their own country," Beier noted.
Beier was joined by his colleague Peter Krogoll, as well as the chairman of the Carezza Dolomites World Cup Organizing Committee, Andreas Obkircher, Maria Gufler, Werner Ranigler, and Enrico Da Rin, who represented the Carezza Dolomites World Cup. During the meeting, the event was analyzed and preparations for the next edition were discussed. "We reviewed the event and received very useful suggestions. We are ready to further optimize the slope based on the suggestions we received," commented Obkircher, who is already working with his team on preparations for this year's World Cup stage on Thursday, December 18th.
The World Cup program
The provisional program for the Visa FIS Snowboard World Cup Carezza Dolomites has also been finalized. The snowboarders will arrive between Sunday, December 14, and Monday, December 15. On Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, they will train for the parallel giant slalom in Carezza Dolomites, which will be the third leg of the 2025/26 World Cup season. Wednesday will also feature the traditional inauguration of the cable car cabin, bearing the names of last year's winners, local hero Jasmin Coratti and Radoslav Yankov (Bulgaria). In the evening, the public draw for the bibs will take place in the heated marquee. The parallel giant slalom competitions on the Pra di Tori begin with the qualifications at 18:9 a.m. on Thursday, December 12.30. Starting at 16:16 p.m., the 15 fastest athletes from the qualifications will compete in the decisive knockout phase, beginning with the round of XNUMX. After the final runs, the winners of the XNUMXth FIS Snowboard World Cup in Carezza Dolomites will be determined.
