Vigl gets the best World Cup result

South Tyrolean speed skater Maybritt Vigl has had a quite satisfactory first World Cup stop in Salt Lake City.

In the first of two 500-meter races, the 20-year-old set a new personal best time. She also finished in 20th place. A day later, Vigl improved this time again – which also meant a better overall result in Salt Lake City (USA).

Thirteenth place in the 500 meters is Vigl's best World Cup result, marking her first appearance at the top level in the USA. The skater from Ritten completed the distance in 38,19 seconds. Rio Yamada won the second race of the B division. Her compatriot Kurumi Inagawa and Carolina Hiller-Donnelly (CAN) also finished on the podium.
