South Tyrol Cup final of the luge athletes in Olang

The final of the South Tyrol Cup in luge took place on Sunday in fantastic winter weather. Sebastian Frei crowned his outstanding season at the end of the season, while in the women's event a young woman from Olang attracted all the attention.

He was South Tyrol's luger of this winter. 27-year-old Sebastian Frei. The luger from ASC Laugen-Tisens won the last race of the South Tyrol Cup and was crowned overall winner of the race series. A young Olanger didn't make it easy for him: Aaron Hofer. The junior put in a brilliant run and put the men who started after him under a lot of pressure. In the end, luck was on Frei's side, who was able to beat Hofer's super time by a hundredth of a second. Tobias Müller from ASC Laugen-Tisens came in third.

In the women's race, a young woman from Olang was unstoppable. With a brilliant ride, Greta Nocker won the day and also upset the overall ranking of the South Tyrol Cup. Thanks to her consistent performance in the first races of the season and her victory in the last race, she was able to catch the three women ahead of her in the ranking. Second place on Sunday went to Greta Ladstätter from Olang, ahead of Laura Runggatscher from ASV Villnöss.

In the doubles, Mair/Müller from ASC Laugen Tisens were the duo of the day. They won the overall ranking of the South Tyrol Cup with their victory in the last race. Second place went to Lambacher/Schwienbacher from ASV Villnöss, ahead of Frei/Frei from ASC Laugen Tisens.
