S+Sigi's Tips | Paralympics sidelined

The decision of the Paralympic Committee (IPC) at the General Assembly in Seoul to allow Russia and Belarus to return to the Olympic Games with full honors (flag and anthem) is met with incomprehension by our columnist Sigi Heinrich, especially since bombs from Russia continue to rain down on Ukraine.

We are delighted that the Russian national anthem will soon be heard in Antholz, Predazzo, Cortina, Bormio, and Milan, and that the Russian flag will happily flutter in the wind in the stadiums after Russian athletes have taken their place on the winners' podium. Paralympic Committee officials decided at their general assembly in Seoul to lift the sanctions against the governing bodies of Russia and its ally Belarus.
