Everything like at the Super Bowl: Eagles defeat Chiefs

A good seven months after winning the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles also won their first reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 20:17 loss in Kansas City was the second loss in the second game of the season for the Chiefs, whose start to the season was the worst since 2014 and thus the worst in the career of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have a perfect record and benefited from a critical moment involving Travis Kelce. The fiancé of pop superstar Taylor Swift failed to catch a pass just short of the end zone for a potential touchdown in the final quarter, allowing his opponent to change possession. From this, the visitors scored their second touchdown and sealed the game.

Kelce's near-touchdown turns the game around

"I threw a little too early," Mahomes said, defending Kelce. "If I throw the ball to his body, he can catch it, take the impact, and score the touchdown."

The Eagles have now won seven straight games this season and 17 of their last 18 matches. The team was far from their strong form from last season – but it was enough to beat the Chiefs. "Our job, especially this early in the season, is to win. We should be proud if we win in any way, work on getting better during the week, and then repeat it all the next weekend," said Eagles coach Nick Sirianni.
