Another former Bozen player for the Rittner Buam

Last week, the signing of Mike Halmo as assistant and youth coach caused quite a stir. Now the Rittner Buam have landed another former Bolzano player, who will be expected to actively boost their offensive play.

With the Fassa Falcons and last year with the SG Cortina Hafro Leonardo Felicetti played against the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. Now the 25-year-old will step onto the ice in the blue and red jersey: The attacker from the Fassa Valley will strengthen the team's offense from the high plateau.

"Leo" Felicetti's strengths are clearly his high-speed skating and his drive to the goal. These have already helped him abroad during his career: After training at his hometown club Fassa, the right winger, born on May 8, 2000, moved to Germany to join the youth team of Iserlohner EC. He remained there until the 2019/20 season before returning to Fassa and entering senior hockey with the Falcons.

At that time, the “Falcons” were still a farm team of HC Bozen, and Felicetti, who is 1,80 meters tall and weighs 81 kilograms, was also allowed to play for the “Foxes.” From 2020 to 2022, he initially played in six games on loan, and in the 2022/23 season he became a regular player for the ICE Hockey League club from the South Tyrolean capital, where the 17-time Italian international scored eight points (four goals) in 67 games.

Before last season, Felicetti transferred to SG Cortina Hafro. With the Ampezzo team, he also had tough battles against the Rittner Buam. In 52 games, the left-handed shooter contributed 32 points (12 goals) and, of all games, was crowned Italian champion in the IHL Serie A final against the Buam – his only ice hockey title to date. That's about to change for the Rittner Buam: The lively attacker will strengthen the blue-red team's offensive line and will be on the hunt for points for them in the upcoming 2025/26 season.

“Potential to be one of the league’s top power forwards”

Dan Tudin and Alexander Eisath, the two sports directors of the Rittner Buam, also have high hopes for the 25-year-old: "We warmly welcome Leo to our team. He impresses with his strong skating and noticeable offensive intelligence. We see in him the potential to become one of the top power forwards in the league," the two praised Felicetti and summarized: "With his commitment, willingness to learn, and work ethic, Leo brings everything we want in a new recruit."
